"Observation and Reflection" (2016) by MaryLea Harris in Bend, OR.

Original Acrylic Painting measures 24"x 24" x 2"

Framed in natural wood, floating frame (25"x25"x3") wired and ready to hang. Signed by the artist on the back.

This painting features some of the season's hottest colors including Pantone's 2017 color of the year, "Greenery", copper, and gold.

My abstract art is meant to explore our relationships between physical place, connection, belonging, and our collective personal journeys. I'm exploring color, texture, and line. I'm focusing on the interplay of "positive" and "negative" space as I reflect on my own positive and negative growth experiences from the past few years. The cracks are how the light gets in. I'm using these maps as a form of art therapy to explore living more simply while celebrating nature, color, texture, and line. This painting was made with recycled plastic gift cards as my brushes. I use these tools as a reminder of how quickly our consumer-driven society replaces nature with disposable plastic.

If you’re purchasing this as a gift, please leave any gift note instructions in the “note to seller” section at checkout
