Celebrate winter and a love of fresh powder with this original mixed media painting by Bend, Oregon artist MaryLea Harris. My snowflake series celebrates nature in the same style as my Happy Little Trees and Happy Little Leaves Series. I'm focusing on the interplay of positive and negative space with the colorful layered background showing through the white outline. Each snowflake is painted by hand without a stencil, because of this tricky process, these paintings take longer to create. Just as in nature, no two of my snowflakes are ever alike. Each one has it's own unique qualities.

This snowflake series is best known for debuting on the Deschutes Brewery 2017 30th Anniversary Jubelale Beer Label. It is important to note that this painting is NOT one of the four paintings that were commissioned by the brewery for the label but are part of my original mixed media snowflake series.
